The reason behind this book
Author Senta Wilson originally wrote The Politics of Principalship as a memoir, documenting her journey from assistant principal to principal. Along the journey, she switched from a memoir to a collection of stories about her experiences told through the lives of two fictional characters. This decision did not impact the author's reason for writing the book, which included educating, inspiring, and transforming leaders. Author Senta Wilson knew she had extensive insight into the role of campus administration, which she needed to utilize to educate other leaders. Priding herself on having a coach's heart, she hoped to inspire leaders to reach their highest leadership potential. Finally, assisting with transforming as many campuses and campus leaders as possible towards excellence is the stamp Senta Wilson wants to leave in this world.
